We have rock star developers, coders, analysts…all the expertise you’d expect to find in a company like ours. Here’s a few things about some of our staffers you might not expect.
Brian didn’t think he should be mentioned because he’s not really an employee. That’s nonsense! So while he wasn’t excited about being included here, he went along with our reco. And therein lies one of his greatest strengths. He listens. Not your typical owner/boss.
Joe attends more than fifty concerts a year. (Yep, that’s like one a week.) He’s such a super fan that he’s actually met dozens of rock’s greatest icons, from James Taylor to Elton John, from Mic Fleetwood to Carole King. When it comes to music appreciation, Joe is a rock star!
Peter wanted to be a research psychologist as a kid. No wonder he can explain complex ideas in easy-to-understand ways. He gets how people think. (He probably knows what you’re thinking right now.)
HOW STAFF SPENDSITS TIME
THIS QUARTER’S FEATURED EMPLOYEES
Predrag’s (aka Peter) greatest asset is his ability to multitask and zero in on the most critical tasks first. But his most interesting talent is how he can do meaty math problems in his head. It’s crazy. He often blurts out the answer while others are still fumbling for their calculators.
Sure, Jeff can fix bad code. But that’s just the tip of the iceberg. He’s Mr. Fix It, both at the office and at his home. A broken mower or disposal is no match for him. In the office, he shows our Linux servers who’s boss, keeping them updated and purring like kittens.
Wayde has played violin for more than half of his life, with a childhood dream of taking the stage someday. Let’s see, music is math-based. Coding is math based. So maybe it’s not a stretch that he wound up with us.
Vel can defy physics with some truly extraordinary shot bending ability on the soccer field. Yet, he also has been known to miss a wide open goal. Both feats are as equally jaw-dropping.
If you’ve ever been involved in a large development project with tight deadlines, you know there can be a fair amount of pressure and stress. Somehow, Marko remains calm. Always. There’s just no riling this guy. Nothing makes him break a sweat. Just try. You’ll see.
Dejan is a pretty solid tennis player. He’s been into soccer in a big way his whole life. So the fact that he makes a living as a developer might seem odd until you learn he also loves building his own PC’s. (Geez, what good ever came from a guy building his own computer in his garage?)
Definitely not afraid to jump in the deep end. Elena swims like a fish. Not like a grouper or a bass, of course, but like a dolphin with speed and grace. Wait, that’s a mammal. Well, you get the idea.
Focus. Determination. Skill. Sure, these are great traits to have at work. But our Mathew also puts them to good use at play. We know this because in the popular video game Destiny, he has earned the Platinum Trophy, a feat accomplished by just over 1% of all players. Way to kick digital butt, Matt!
In addition to computer languages, Pavel speaks English and Russian fluently. Unfortunately, he also sings both fluently. If you visit, maybe you’ll be lucky enough to hear the Russian classic “Thirty-Three Cows” echoing through our halls.
Coders and developers aren’t generally known for their smooth moves on the dance floor. But that’s Jon, just one of the programmers here blowing geek stereotypes clean out of the water.
So what is a guy with a degree in Game Art & Design doing here? Why, he’s helping clients do battle in the cutthroat insurance game, of course. In our programs, users rarely have to survive alien attacks or outrun angry gorillas. But now that Chris is here, that could all change.
Brian says that in high school, he dreamed of one day becoming an apprentice to the Gordon’s Fisherman. So in the off chance he’s not kidding and winds up with a super sweet fishing boat, we figured we better include him as a Featured Employee.
This programming pro would be just as comfortable developing programs to whip us all into shape. An athlete at heart, Barbara chose coding as a career to keep fitness from ever feeling like a job. Now drop and give her twenty!
Was a professional chef. Still loves creating coma-inducing feasts for his wife and friends. Kicks everyone’s butts whenever there’s a company pot-luck.
