The Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses Initiative is a newly created $500 million program designed to unlock the growth and job-creation potential of 10,000 small businesses across the United States through greater access to education, capital and business support services for a highly targeted group of successful business executives.
Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses is about tapping into the economic power of successful small businesses by providing select entrepreneurs across the country with additional resources needed to grow and create jobs. The program is funded by Goldman Sachs and the Goldman Sachs Foundation and is currently operating in Chicago, Cleveland, Detroit, Houston, Long Beach, Los Angeles, Miami, New Orleans, New York, Philadelphia and Salt Lake City. It will continue to expand on a city-by-city basis across the United States and into the United Kingdom in 2014.
Partnering with the City of Cleveland, Goldman Sachs has invested $15 million to the Cleveland program; arming local business owners with their business plans and growth strategies. The program consists of 16 full day sessions in which the business owners will learn to identify opportunities, develop their leadership skills and maximize their business operations. Program candidates will receive one-on-one business advisement while developing their own customized business growth plans with experts and other successful small business owners in a collaborative setting.
Upon learning of selection into the program, Inforce Technologies CEO Brian MacKenzie said, “This is a great opportunity for our company and our team at Inforce.
